Maidstone East
TPM Studio were commissioned by Kent County Council to develop masterplan proposals for their Maidstone East estate, which consists of Sessions House, Sessions Square and Invicta House.
The masterplan includes the retention and refurbishment of Invicta House as KCC’s headquarters with Sessions House retained as the civic centre at the heart of the campus providing a range of facilities for both KCC and the local community.
The initial phase of the masterplan comprises the refurbishment of both Invicta House and Sessions House Blocks C & D to accommodate KCC and allow Blocks A, B and E to be vacated.
The emerging vision for these buildings, which will be surplus to KCC’s requirements, is to be repurposed to energise the masterplan both by way of a new coworking space and residential accommodation. The collection of buildings forming the new civic campus is linked by extensive public realm which will be reinvigorated to enable social and economic opportunities within the heart of Maidstone East.
